About

Two people, fourteen clients, one filing cabinet of documentation.

FreeIT System started in 2019 when a print shop asked one of us to "just look at the server for an hour". The hour turned into a rewiring job, the rewiring job turned into a company, and the notes we took along the way turned into this site.

The office in Tartu

How a project usually goes

The first visit is unpaid and takes about two hours. We walk the office, open the server cupboard, photograph the cabling and ask who to call when something breaks. Most of the time that person has already left the company.

Then we send a short document: what exists, what will fail first, and what it costs to fix in what order. Nobody has to sign anything to receive it. Roughly half of the companies we write it for take one item off the list and do it themselves, which is a perfectly good outcome.

If we do continue, we work in month-long blocks with a fixed number of hours. No retainer that quietly renews, no minimum term, no equipment sold at a markup — if you need a switch, we tell you which one and you buy it.

Why the notes are public

Partly because we look things up ourselves and know how rare a write-up with real numbers is. Partly because a client who understands their own network is easier to work with than one who does not. And partly because it is the only marketing we have ever managed to keep up with.

The boring details

FreeIT System OÜ, registered in Tartu, Estonia, since October 2019. Working languages Estonian, English and Russian. We do not do consumer PC repair, website design, or anything involving a printer driver older than we are — though we make exceptions for the printer, always, eventually.
